Placement Exam Information
Placement exams help us determine which classes are best for you. WVU relies on these exams to place you into the appropriate courses.
Every student attending Orientation will take the Quantitative Reasoning Assessment (QRA). The results from the QRA will determine your placement into a math class at WVU. If you are required to take chemistry, the results will also determine your placement into a chemistry class.
Students currently taking French, German, or Spanish and who plan to continue with the same language at WVU must take a foreign language placement exam. This computerized exam is language specific and required before you can attend class.
