Welcome to the Orientation Leader Homepage!
Every year, the office of New Student Orientation assembles a group of hard-working individuals who will assist in the planning and implementation of New Student Orientation. Members of the staff help incoming students with the transition from high school to college and those transferring from another institution.
The office plans and coordinates New Student Orientation for incoming freshman and transfer students as well as their parents or guests. New Student Orientation is an important step in preparing students for their first year at West Virginia University. New Student Orientation takes place four separate times a year. The month of June is the primary period for Orientation. Over 80% of new undergraduate students will participate in one of the 14-15 sessions offered during this month. Two Saturday sessions are also offered in late spring to students living within a short driving distance of campus and to transfer students. A final opportunity for students to attend Orientation for the fall semester is offered in August during the week prior to the first week of classes. In early January, we offer New Student Orientation to students enrolling for the first time in the spring semester.
