Freshman Orientation Information
New Student Orientation is designed for admitted students who have paid their academic deposit. During the program, students and families will learn about WVU’s academic programs, meet faculty members, discover all of our student support services, and make new friends with other incoming students. You will register for your fall classes after discussing your options with your academic advisor. Our office holds orientation programs at three specific times throughout the year.
- Spring Orientation – Held right before classes begin in January
- Summer Orientation – Held weekdays during June
- Fall Orientation – Held right before classes begin in August
Spring orientation is designed for students who will be enrolled for the Spring semester. Summer orientation is designed for students who are admitted for the Fall semester. And Fall orientation is held for those students who are unable to attend orientation in June.
Details for Summer Orientation will be mailed in March to all students who have paid the WVU Academic Deposit. Details for Spring Orientation are mailed to all admitted students in December.
